Today, July 8th, H-I-M is back again. Rema returns with his new single, “HEHEHE,” hot on the heels of “Benin Boys”, just in time for his performance at the Wireless Festival this Sunday. On 'HEHEHE,' Rema delivers a bold and unapologetic response to his critics. The track is a taunt to those who have doubted him, showcasing his confidence and success, proving that he can back up his words with action. Produced by Yo X, the instrumentation on "HEHEHE" is a tribute to Rema's roots. “Monday morning talking about me while I’m making money” connotes some of the criticisms he has received for his art, a magniloquent boast of him taking profitable giant strides despite all the theories around him and his art. The drum patterns and cadence distinctly showcase his heritage, continuing his mission to connect listeners with his origins. Embracing this new era, H-I-M appears in the video in a muted palette of black and white tones. Through a grainy lens, the song's twisted and playful elements bring it all to life, mirroring Rema's unique state of mind.

Throughout the past year, Rema's musical odyssey has propelled him and Afrobeats to global prominence, transcending borders and captivating audiences worldwide. From the outset, his mission has remained steadfast, never wavering in his relentless pursuit of excellence. A significant highlight was his sold-out headline show at The O2 in London last November, marking his most monumental performance yet. His album 'Rave & Roses Ultra', released before summer, introduced hits like 'Charm', then followed a new chapter with his RAVAGE EP. He made history as the first African artist to surpass a billion streams on Spotify with a single song. Adding to his accolades, he clinched the inaugural VMA for the Best Afrobeats category and secured his spot as the longest-charting African artist on the Billboard Top 100. His achievements even landed him a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for topping the MENA charts. Among his chart-topping hits, 'Calm Down' emerged as the anthem of 2023, soaring to No.4 on the UK's Official Charts and No.5 on the Billboard Hot 100. Garnering Gold, Diamond, and Platinum certifications across the globe, the track's success solidifies Rema's impact on the international music scene.

Rema is swiftly earning the title of one of the most influential game-changers of his generation. People are quick to call what he does strange, but often, it's because he is the first to do something new—this perfectly encapsulates Rema’s entire career to date.
