Today - 26th September - East London singer-songwriter FromJerome releases his debut 6-track EP 'Before The Sunsets'. Offering new dimensions to R&B, FromJerome injects his Grenadian-Nigerian heritage into his sonic, providing a Dancehall-meets-Afrobeats sound, which he dubs Afro-Hall. At just 21-years-old, FromJerome doesn't struggle to let his guard down, offering total vulnerability through relatable lyrics that encapsulate the raw emotions of a young person figuring out life and love. He teamed up with producers Zino Milly (Fredo, Young T and Bugsey), Elevated (Central Cee, AntsLive, Dave), RZ (Highlyy, Gabzy, JayO)  and London's Jed Soul to capture a carefully curated essence that merges culture-leading genres. With hints of early Bryson Tiller and PartyNextDoor to his aesthetic, FromJerome's personal narratives are what separates him from his peers.

Music has been ingrained in FromJerome from birth. His earliest childhood memories were hearing his parents playing a mixture of Fuji, Soca, Dancehall, and Lovers Rock. From there, his elder siblings - who also made music - introduced him to the leading sounds of their generation, exposing him to Garage and R&B, a concoction that encouraged him to explore his creative urges. Evolving from writing poetry to express his emotions to rapping on the school bus, Jerome recognised that singing would increase his popularity with females in his circle. Heavily influenced by Bryson Tiller's breakthrough album 'T R A P S O U L', he envisioned creating a textured sonic that he later taught himself how to replicate for his early demos. When his University peers encouraged him to release snippets on TikTok, Jerome was confident enough to pursue it more seriously. His growing support on socials and a music-centered trip to LA helped him see how his dreams could turn into reality.

FromJerome's intentions for 'Before The Sunsets' are to mark a timestamp for this point of his journey. The project's narrative follows a summer-love story with him falling head over heels before realising it wasn't meant to be. He wastes no time setting his romantic intentions with the opening track 'You Deserve' before shifting through the gears for 'Line It Up', outlining his infatuation. The recent single, 'Brown Liquor Baby' produced by Elevated sonically represents love and lust. He pieces the EP together with voice notes between 'Good Time Interlude' and 'Girls Trip' to subtly introduce parts of his personality. Closing the chapter on the conceptual EP, 'Favourite Stranger', sees Jerome reminiscing about what could have been if the relationship fulfilled its potential.

With no limits to his growth, 'Before The Sunsets' is the foundation of something special for FromJerome.
