Sarah Isabella shares music video for meditative new single ‘Intuition’ and announces debut EP
Taking a moment of self-reflection, ‘Intuition’ sees Sarah Isabella present a mesmerising blend of alternative R&B, ambient soul and jazz
Soulful riser Sarah Isabella has shared her meditative new single, ‘Intuition’, the first to be lifted from a debut EP landing in June.
Inspired by a period of self-discovery, Sarah Isabella is preparing to bare her soul for this forthcoming run of new music. Leaning into the complexities of the human experience, and taking cues from her interests across spirituality and the arts, the London-based artist is part of a new wave of socially-conscious young talents making alternative R&B and soul music in the UK.
For new single ‘Intuition’, Isabella sings her ode to inner-peace over a luscious soundscape with soothing jazz-soul touches. With an official video in tow, the track is brought to life with visuals that reflect Isabella’s emotional disconnection inside a concrete jungle setting, before she finds clarity in nature. Its introspective vibe is a nod to the optimism of Springtime, paving the way for the release of her debut EP which will consist of 6 tracks that document her journey towards self-acceptance and reclamation.
Speaking of the inspiration behind ‘Intuition’, Sarah Isabella explains:
"Intuition is like rediscovering a conversation with myself, one I had neglected for too long. It's a gentle nudge to reconnect with both the natural world and my inner wisdom, emphasising the importance of self-trust above all else."
Born and raised in Newham, East London, Sarah Isabella finds inspiration in the raw and honest lyricism from the area’s homegrown talents (Kano, Ghetts and rising star Lizzie Berchie are from the London Borough), and it’s here that she connected with her tight-knit network of collaborators. Growing up, the sounds of Sade, Nina Simone and Tracy Chapman would become huge sources of musical inspiration for her, while some of her favourite artists of recent years include Solange and James Blake to name a few. This melting pot of influences combined with Isabella’s background in theatre and literature have continued to shape her approach to creativity, storytelling and audience connection, all of which are underpinned by her strong interest in spirituality and exploring psychedelic practices. Now, as she prepares to bring these elements to the fore for her debut EP, the release of new single ‘Intuition’ provides an inspired preview of things to come.
