Today - 16th August - London’s rising singer, songwriter and producer Reuben Aziz releases new single ‘Day + Night’ alongside Sexy Drill pioneer Wolfacejoeyy. Taken from an upcoming project - which is due next month - ‘Day + Night’ pushes the boundaries of R&B with additional elements of Pop and Sexy Drill, self-produced by Reuben. Although the duo put the song together virtually, they came together in London for the Sci-Fi and VFX-heavy video shot by Will Norman (JME, P Money, Manga Saint Hilare). Reuben carefully selects his lyrics such as “I’ve been working day and night, to buy some time” to ensure he connects to his generation as well as the one before and after him. 

“I wanted to make something different that still has a bop and captures themes people can relate to. Time is the most precious thing, and it can’t be bought. That message is important to me, and I need to remind myself of it sometimes. Me and Joeyy had wanted to do a song together for a while. Working with him is always fun, as we’re twins from different countries. It comes very naturally to us.”

Southampton-born, London-based Reuben Aziz is a self-taught vocalist and guitar player who began writing music at ten and producing at fourteen; it’s safe to say music was his first love. His Father has always had a significant impact on his appreciation for music. He cites Tupac, The Fugees, and DMX as his earliest inspirations before discovering the likes of Pharrell and Frank Ocean. He takes inspiration from his peers and life and is poised to reflect relatable feelings throughout his music. Having spent his teens on a mission to become a professional basketballer, the former 6’2 point guard had a creative pivot during lockdown, which saw many of his rap freestyles go viral. Breakthrough single ‘find u’ - currently on 4+ Million streams across DSP’s - increased his global awareness and established his name further in the UK scene after going viral on TikTok. He has since released consecutive singles that cultivated fans like Stormzy, Clint419, SuperDuperKyle and more. Reuben’s recent UK + EU tour support with Aretas saw him perform live acoustic renditions of his upcoming music and covers, which helped garner new European fans. Constantly engrained in UK culture, his recent performance on Balamii Radio saw him tease new music that will feature on the upcoming project.

Reuben's one-of-a-kind attention to detail is at the forefront of everything he puts his mind to. Since first making waves back in 2023, he has put his time, energy, and focus into his debut project, which will put his name out on the most significant scale to date.
